ABOUT

From a young age, I was always into photography. I would sit down on the floor surrounded by family albums, studying peoples expressions and the lights and angles used. If I got to take or be in a photo, I was game. My mum bought me my first digital point and shoot camera at around 10 which eventually upgraded to a digital camera in my teens. I was ALWAYS taking photos for my friends as they all knew how much I loved to do it, especially in the Myspace haydays. So, Chloe Mary Photography started off like any other hobby, something I was too bad at. And one day hoping to turn it into my dream career.

During college whilst studying my Art and Design BTEC, I noticed I was more into the photography side of my course and thrived on projects that got me involved in picking up a camera. I never had the best equipment but I always made it work with what I had. The majority of my high grades came from the projects that involved photography and I became fascinated with different ways of shooting. As I moved on from College to University (trying to study Fashion) I realised the design aspect was no longer for me and quit my course. This was always something I worried about regretting in later life but I can say hand on heart, I don't. I continued with photographing with my Fujifilm Digital until my partner Ashley treated me to my first DSLR, My Canon Rebel T3i. I honestly don't know where I'd be without this camera and until about last year, it satisfied my urges.

But I am one of those who always wants to learn and better themselves, so I needed my next fix. I've recently started trying to shoot with full frame and whilst this is difficult to adjust, it's just so exciting to see what it can bring to my photos. Also going from GIMP2 to Lightroom is a huge improvement and I feel like a kid in a candy shop with all the possibilities that are out there for me.

My photography passion has really developed over the years since I began blogging in 2014. This is where a lot of my photography love came from as I become bigger in the blog world, I was being sent more products from companies PR departments who wanted reviews in return. I always wanted to keep my reviews very personal and relate-able for people but wanted to create an aesthetic in the images so when people read, they also enjoyed looking at my posts. This is where I really began getting to know the more technical side of photography and how to work with natural lighting, props and flatlays. From here, my passion has only sky rocketed and although I now find it hard to fit time in for my blog anymore, I owe my success so far in photography life to it. So thank-you to everyone I've ever met through blogging and to the companies willing to give a new girl a chance.
Friends and Family will tell you I'm ALWAYS taking photos. Whether it'a with my Canon 1D, Canon Rebel T3i or even my iPhone - equipment shortage will never stop me. Heck, I've been known to grab other people's cameras to get in on the action.

I work in retail (Paperchase) as a part time supervisor but wherever and whenever I can pick up the next photography job, I jump at the chance. Photography is my passion and whilst I may not have the most up to date equipment or technical knowledge behind me due to not going through and studying  (yes I don't have a degree, I have passion!) anyone who has seen me work will tell you that I don't let it stop me. I continuously learn from my mistakes and invest in new equipment where possible. And in continuing with my passion, I one day hope I won't have to work alongside to pay the bills and that Photography will be more of a career than a side project and passion.
